While your healthcare team will provide guidance on how to use KESIMPTA, you can get help with your first dose at your doctor’s office if you’re nervous. No first dose observation is required.
**Where should I inject KESIMPTA?**
Choose and clean your injection site, avoiding areas with moles, scars, stretch marks, or where the skin is tender, bruised, red, scaly, or hard.
**How do I know when the KESIMPTA injection is complete?**
Press the pen firmly against your skin at a 90-degree angle; you’ll hear 2 clicks, and the green progress indicator will stop moving when the injection is complete.
**What should I do if I miss a monthly KESIMPTA dose?**
Take the missed dose as soon as possible, then resume your monthly schedule with the next dose 1 month later. To keep it simple, try taking KESIMPTA on the same date every month.
**Do I need to take any medications before my KESIMPTA dose?**
No premedications are required. Only limited benefit of premedication with corticosteroids, antihistamines, or acetaminophen was seen in RMS clinical studies.
**How should I store KESIMPTA and prepare it for injection?**
KESIMPTA must be refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) and can be stored at room temperature below 30°C (86°F) for up to 7 days. Remove the pen from the refrigerator 15 to 30 minutes before injecting to allow it to reach room temperature.
**How do I dispose of the KESIMPTA pen after use?**
Dispose of the used pen in an FDA-cleared sharps container. Do not reuse the pen.
